In September 2014, the Mediterranean Bank bought the Volksbank Malta Limited, a subsidiary of Volksbank Malta, so that it could offer banking services to the retail and corporate sectors in Malta. Volksbank Malta was renamed as the Mediterranean Corporate Bank when it merged its activities with the corporate bank services offered by the Mediterranean Bank.
